Cooperation Fund for the Water Sector

The Cooperation Fund for the Water Sector (CFWS) is a multi-donor facility established to help catalyze the implementation of ADB's Water Policy in its developing member countries (DMCs). ADB's Board of Directors established the Fund in December 2001. CFWS finances a coherent program of activities designed to promote effective water management policies and practices in the Asia and the Pacific region.

CFWS ACTIVITIES The Fund’s activities include: • Promotion and Public Awareness • Knowledge Base and Capacity Building • Pilot and Demonstration Activities • Partnerships and Special Alliances • Regional Events • Program Coordination, Monitoring and Evaluation

The Fund’s objectives are to:

• Add value to the water projects carried out by ADB's Regional Departments
• Increase synergy in ADB's water sector operations
• Strengthen regional cooperation
