| CFWS’ Program of Activities offers opportunities for participation by staff and agencies of developing member countries (DMCs), consultants, NGOs, research and academic institutions and other groups or individuals who have an interest in the water sector. |

Participation in any of the appropriate CFWS components or activities is open to all DMCs. In particular, DMC agencies and staff can
- Participate in some follow-up initiatives to the 3rd World Water Forum
- Propose pilot and demonstration activities
- Spearhead or join efforts to strengthen water partnerships in their country or sub-region
- Organize or attend county/regional events and initiatives
- Propose other activities that can be reviewed and prioritized by the Water Sector Committee;
CFWS activities may require consulting services or participation by consulting firms, individual consultants, and NGOs in the following areas:
- capacity building
- community education and awareness
- community organization and development
- dams and development
- environmental management
- financing for water infrastructure and services
- flood management
- gender and development
- information systems
- institutional development
- integrated water resources and river basin management
- knowledge management
- poverty reduction
- public-private partnerships
- sanitation and hygiene education
- tariff reform and regulatory frameworks
- wastewater management
- water sector reform
- water supply and sanitation
- watershed management
