Providing adequate sanitation services to a burgeoning population brings significant challenges. When lack of awareness, misplaced priorities, lack of infrastructure, and apathy are added to the equation, these challenges could seem insurmountable. The Asia-Pacific region, with its innovativeness and resilience, proves that solutions for these challenges exist.
This documentary film, produced by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union and ADB with assistance from 5 national broadcasting companies in the region, showcases the difficulties experienced and actions undertaken by individuals, communities, organizations, and governments in the People's Republic of China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, and Viet Nam. More than a source of information, these stories aim to inspire further affirmative action to help address the needs of 1.8 billion people in Asia who still lack improved sanitation.
