Network of Asian River Basin Organizations
NARBO Action Plan

The Network of Asian River Basin Organizations (NARBO) was established to share knowledge and build capacity for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in river basins throughout Asia.

NARBO meets annually to

  • Evaluate the accomplishments in the preceding year’s action plan
  • Determine NARBO’s thrusts for the year in the promotion of IWRM
  • Formulate, discuss, and approve an action plan for the coming year

  1. IWRM Training Program

Develop the capacity of NARBO member staff in understanding and implementing IWRM in their respective river basins

Organize IWRM workshops on topics of interest during the NARBO general meeting
Organize thematic workshop series, based on demand, to deepen understanding on priority topics

Provide a demand-based performance benchmarking service for RBOs to assess and improve their performance
Introduce a river basin performance benchmarking methodology

Visit RBOs to learn from their experience in implementing IWRM, and promote knowledge generation and sharing
