ADB embarked on a comprehensive process to review the implementation of its Water Policy in 2005 to provide ADB and its stakeholders with an assessment of progress regarding the implementation of the water policy, as well as recommendations to improve ADB's water investments and operations.
The review included several modalities, the most important of which is the commissioning of an independent review panel of experts to lead the review process. The 6-member panel is composed of senior developing member country officials, representatives from civil society, bilateral donors, and the private sector.
This presentation publicly launched the Review Panel’s report at ADB's Board of Governors’ Annual Meeting. The session was immediately followed by an enlarged panel discussion including members of the Review Panel; representatives of the NGO Forum on ADB network; and the Director of ADB's Energy, Transport, and Water Division.
