This is a desirable practical and holistic approach to environmentally sustainable, economically viable and socially responsible development that will ensure the DMcs to realize the Millennium Development Goal of Poverty alleviation. However, in order to ensure a meaningful, timely and effective stakeholder consultation and public participation during the decision making process, the policy should emphasize on Government’s commitment to environmental and social accountability and capacity building of the Project Implementing Agencies.
