Session 4: Public-Private-Community Partnerships to Serve the Urban Poor

The session will highlight the strengths and weaknesses of public private partnerships in their role of delivering the universal service obligation - that is service that includes the poorest. Case studies where the public and private sectors as well as the community have formed partnerships to provide water supply will demonstrate that service can be reformed and extended to the urban poor through participatory development and service differentiation.
Key lessons from the study that will be discussed in the session include the following:
