China

Reactions from the National Committee on Large Dams to the WCD report highlighted the significant contribution of dams to the China's development, concerns over some of the policy recommendations, and reservations about the practicality of implementing some of the guidelines. See the full text of the statement.

The State Environment Protection Agency has been translating the WCD report into Chinese which should be available shortly through UNEP-DDP at ddpinfo@unep.org.

The Ministry of Water Resources has become an active member of the DDP Forum.
