Biography: Bruce Davis

Bruce Davis is the Vice-President (Administration and Corporate Management) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He assumed office in January 2013.
Mr. Davis oversees the Operations Services and Financial Management Department, Office of the Secretary, Office of the General Counsel, Budget, Personnel, and Management Systems Department, and the Office of Administrative Services. He provides leadership in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of ADB's operations and administrative management.
Prior to this, Mr. Davis was the Australian Ambassador to Ireland from 2009 to 2012.
Mr. Davis served more than 30 years at the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), which he led as Director General for 10 years spanning 1999-2009. As Director General, he was responsible for the planning and delivery of the Australian government's development assistance program. During his time with AusAID, Mr. Davis helped guide the agency's aid policy and management reform and budget and related effectiveness and accountability issues. He also led high-level consultations with partner governments, and multilateral and other development institutions partnering with the Australian Government. He regularly participated in major development conferences.
Mr. Davis is an Australian national, is a Member of the Order of Australia, awarded for services to international development, and was also a Life Member of the Australian Council for International Development in 2009. He received his Bachelor's Degree in History and Government from the University of Queensland.
