ADB met the majority of its operational targets in 2012 and expanded its contribution to outcomes in its developing member countries, said an ADB performance review released today.

ADB met most of its key performance targets in 2011 but outcomes from recently completed operations remained below target despite improvements over the previous year, said an ADB performance report released today.

The Association of South East Asian Nations’ largest financing initiative, the ASEAN Infrastructure Fund, is set to commence operations following its Board’s first meeting on the sidelines of ADB's 45th Annual Meeting.

Infrastructure in Asia and the Pacific must not only be strengthened and expanded but also enable the cost-effective movement of goods, services, and people across boundaries if the region is to sustain robust economic growth in the decades to come.

ADB continued to improve the performance of its operations and advance internal reforms during 2010, although the effectiveness of its recently completed projects, approved in the early 2000s, fell short of targets, an ADB scorecard released today said.
