The Ministry of Finance, Government of India and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) are pleased to invite you for a seminar on the theme ‘Innovation for Inclusion’ on the occasion of the 46th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This seminar will be held on May 2, 2013 at the India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida from 2:30-4:15 pm in the Banquet Hall.

The seminar will be addressed by Mr. P Chidambaram, Hon’ble Finance Minister of India, Mr. Takehiko Nakao, President, Asian Development Bank, Ms. Naina Lal Kidwai, President, FICCI and Country Head, HSBC India and Mr. Harsh C Mariwala, Chairman & Managing Director, Marico Ltd.

The opening session will be followed by a panel discussion on the subject which is in sync with the growing perception of innovation as a major driver of rising living standards, especially for those at the bottom of the pyramid and thus a means to achieving inclusive growth. There is an increasing focus today by governments, industry, businesses, researchers and innovators on exploring the potential of innovation to drive growth through sustainable solutions to the most significant challenges facing the world we live in --- food and nutrition, education, health, water and sanitation and better access to finance.

The discussion will involve some of the young entrepreneurs who will share their views on using innovative models to address social and economic issues in areas such as health, education, sanitation, financial inclusion for people at the bottom of the pyramid and how businesses are contributing towards the goal of inclusion.
