The 46th Annual Meeting wraps up with the President's closing press conference, key seminars with ADB senior staff, and the Second Business Session.

ADB President Takehiko Nakao met the international and national media at a news conference closing the 46th Annual Meeting in Delhi.

At a seminar during ADB's 46th Annual Meeting, participants discussed some of the major developments in South Asia-Southeast Asia economic cooperation, the role of cross-border physical connectivity, as well as the importance of complementary policies. The seminar was organized by ADB and ADBI.

This seminar at ADB's 46th Annual Meeting discussed the role Asia can play in promoting and driving cooperation with other developing regions such as Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Valuable experiences from India were highlighted.

During the Business Sessions at ADB's 46th Annual Meeting, the Board of Governors considered the Annual Report for 2012, the Independent Auditors' Report, the budget for 2013, and delivered statements.

Day 3 featured the official opening ceremony, Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen speaking at a key seminar and a media briefing on the role of public service in alleviating poverty.

ADB and Microsoft Corp. presented new ideas for mobile applications at ADB’s 46th Annual Meeting.  Apps that track water use, access emergency services and help public transport users plan journeys were discussed. The event was part of the  Apps For Asia – Redesigning Development Program, which aims to harness the creativity of hundreds of software designers to promote economic and social development in the region. 

Changyong Rhee, ADB's Chief Economist, and Anil Deolalikar, School of Public Policy at University of California's Founding Dean, brief the media on the importance of delivering effective public services to support inclusive growth, reduce inequality, and empower poor and vulnerable people.
