Asia's Rising Trade and Financial Integration: The Energy Story [Sponsored Seminar - Standard and Poor's with Platts]
3 May 2014, 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm, Congress Hall 2
The rise of Asia and the Pacific on the world stage is continuing. Underpinning this rise is the region’s growing share of global output, which is being partly driven by Asia’s expanding middle class and their growing demand for consumer products and energy. It’s clear that growth across Asia and the Pacific is no longer being driven only by exports. Asia and the Pacific continues to integrate across trade and finance, presenting increasing opportunities within the region. What’s more, key commodity sectors, including food and energy, will be significant drivers in the region’s continued growth agenda.
A distinguished panel of speakers from Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services and the business community will discuss these issues and other evolving trade and financing trends at both the macroeconomic and sector levels. The session will also address the outlook for regional integration, investment opportunities and policy challenges.
