According to Nobel Laureate, Professor Amartya Sen, health issues should be an integral part of the development agenda. Lack of health and limited access to health care represent poverty of individuals and nations. Bad health is also about lost individual productivity and income, and affects the functioning of the national economy.
This seminar will focus on how investment in health could have positive impact on poverty reduction and economic growth in Asia. During the session, the development challenge of HIV/AIDS in Asia will also be addressed.
