YOON JE CHO is the standing economic policy advisor to the President of the Republic of Korea. From 1997-2003, he was a professor of economics at Sogang University's Graduate School of International Studies, Republic of Korea. Mr. Cho was senior advisor to the deputy prime minister and to the minister of finance and economy in 1995-1997. He has also served as vice president of the Korea Institute of Public Finance (1995-1996) and senior fellow and director of research (1993-1994). Additional credentials include working as a senior economist at the World Bank (1992-1993), IMF economist (1989-1992), and School of Foreign Studies Adjunct Professor, Georgetown University, United States (1990). Furthermore, he is a member or director of several public and private sector boards, and holds numerous academic positions. He is a frequent lecturer at, and consultant for, multilateral development banks. Mr. Cho received his bachelor's degree in economics from Seoul National University as well as master's and doctoral degrees in economics from Stanford University, United States.
