Private Sector
ADB has supported many private sector projects in its developing member countries since 1983. Currently, ADB's private sector operations focus primarily on two major sectors:
- Infrastructure: power (e.g. generation, transmission and distribution, including a particular focus on renewable power), transportation (e.g. roads, ports, railways, airports), water supply and waste treatment, oil and gas infrastructure, and telecommunications
- Capital Markets: financial institutions and investment funds
The areas with ADB-financed private sector projects in the Philippines include:
- Credit guarantees
- Credit information bureau
- Development banks
- Expressway rehabilitation and expansion
- Housing finance
- Mutual fund
- Nonperforming loan resolution/acquisition
- SME financing
- Thermal power generation facilities
- Venture capital companies
