Ateneo de Manila University
Edsel L. Beja, Jr specializes in development and macroeconomics. He has a long-standing interest in the analysis of capital, trade and labor flows; environment and development linkages; and country indebtedness. His most recent work has focused on capital and resources flight. Edsel has taught economics at Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) since 1996. Presently, he is Deputy Director of the Ateneo Center for Economic Research and Development at ADMU. Edsel has taught at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan (1992-1995) and University of Massachusetts Amherst (2001-2005); he has worked at the Helenica Group of Companies, Political Economy Research Institute, Center for Popular Economics, and United Nations Development Programme. Edsel obtained his Ph.D. in economics from University of Massachusetts Amherst and MAs from University of Cambridge and Ateneo de Manila University.
