Description
ONGOING EVALUATION. ADB’s long-term corporate strategy assumes that by 2020 half of all ADB’s assistance will support private sector development and private sector operations. The level was at 37% in 2009 and 2010 in terms of approved ADB loans.
This ongoing evaluation study aims to answer the following broad questions: (i) how has ADB contributed to private sector development in the region, and what role did its efforts play in helping create an enabling environment? (ii) how successful was this assistance, what approaches worked, and which ones did not, and why? (iii) how can ADB support the creation of enabling environments for private sector development to be strengthened in line with its long-term corporate strategy objectives (Strategy 2020) prepared in 2008?
