Bangladesh: Validation of the Country Partnership Strategy Final Review, 2011–2015

This report validates the country partnership strategy final review (CPSFR) for Bangladesh’s country partnership strategy for 2011–2015. This report assesses the quality of the self-evaluation and identifies lessons and recommendations to inform the new CPS. The CPSFR and this validation will contribute to the development of ADB's next country partnership strategy (CPS) for Bangladesh for 2016–2020.

One of the recommendations of the report for framing the next CPS is on exploring the potential for greater use of innovative financial instruments such as results-based lending modalities. The increased use of this instrument has the potential to improve performance by clearly linking funding availability with results, and increasing incentives for the government to follow through with agreed reforms.

Overall, the validation assesses the CPS 2011–2015 program successful.
