The Sri Lanka Country Gender Assessment updates information contained in the 2004 Country Gender Assessment published by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). It comprises four chapters that examine the gender gaps in various sectors of Sri Lankan society. In particular, it defines modes through which ADB is committed to support the government and civil society in their effort to promote a gendered approach to economic growth, poverty reduction, and reconstruction in areas affected by the armed conflict and the 2004 tsunami.
