This workshop will enable the participants to design the following
- Regional Consultation Workshop (RCW) on Water and Poverty; and
- Third World Water Forum (3WWF) - Activities for the Water and Poverty Theme
At the end of the workshop, participants will have:
- Agreed on the conceptual framework for water and poverty
- Formulated the agenda for the RCW and 3WWF
- Defined the operational and institutional arrangements for the conduct of the RCW and 3WWF
- Defined the strategies for the advocacy and public awareness of the RCW and 3WWF
- Recommendations for improving the concept paper on water and poverty
- Draft guidelines on the conduct of the RCW, e.g. title, schedule of activities, case studies to be presented, etc
- Institutional and operational arrangements for implementing the RCW, e.g. organization of the Water & Poverty working group, action plan, etc
- Advocacy and public awareness plan
Participation is by invitation only
- Representatives from partner institutions such as Global Water Partnership, Water Supply & Sanitation Collaborative Council, Netherlands International Development Agency, etc
- Representatives from international and local NGOs, e.g. WaterAid, Aprotech Asia, etc
