Post-Workshop Statement

Read the proceedings of the Customs Cooperation Committee Regional Capacity Building Seminar.

Objectives

The Customs Cooperation Committee (CCC) is a group of heads of customs administrations of the East and Central Asian countries joining a larger regional cooperation program supported by the Asian Development Bank.

The CCC provides policy directions and supervises the implementation of a Common Action Plan to facilitate trade and modernize customs through joint efforts.

This training seminar was the first of series of training activities in support of capacity building component of the Common Action Plan.

Among the issues discussed were

  • Customs integrity and the Arusha Declaration
  • The revised Kyoto Convention
  • The WTO Customs Valuation Agreement
  • Risk Management

Participants

The seminar was coordinated by East and Central Asia Department and brought together about 35 customs officials from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, the People's Republic of China, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
