  • advance protection of urban environments
  • promote sustainable development in cities
  • share information and best practices
  • build partnerships with business sector, donor organizations, and non-government organizations.

ADB's participation to 2006 MAPES aimed to

  • highlight ADB's role in achieving urban environmental management and sustainable development
  • improve knowledge base and facilitate the exchange of ADB's good practices on urban water among urban leaders in DMCs
  • develop or maintain networking with urban leaders.
