Access to Justice for the Urban Poor: Final Workshop for Regional Technical Assistance 6366

The purpose of the workshop will be to

1. discuss the key findings on informal dispute and grievance resolution mechanisms used by the urban poor in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand in handling grievances and disputes over urban assets, in particular land, housing, water, electricity, education, and health
2. discuss regional comparisons
3. develop recommendations and next steps for incorporation in ADB's urban development projects

At the end of the workshop, participants will

• be informed of the findings of the research conducted under RETA 6366: Access to Justice for the Urban Poor
• understand the connection between dispute resolution and access to urban assets for the urban poor
• understand the different issues to consider when using or setting up dispute resolution mechanisms in urban development projects
• formulate recommendations and next steps for incorporation in ADB's urban development projects
