19 August 2009; Incheon, Korea
Background | Objectives | Organizers | Participants
The Asia-Pacific Water Forum’s (APWF) KnowledgeHubs network is committed to improving water security in the Asia-Pacific region through sharing knowledge and solutions among water institutions. Launched in 2008, KnowledgeHubs was established through a cooperation agreement among the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, PUB Singapore, and ADB. As of July 2009, 17 APWF water knowledge hubs have been confirmed, each a center of excellence of a specific water knowledge field.
K-water has been confirmed as the regional water knowledge hub for water quality management in river basins. This launch ceremony will present knowledge and capacity development services that K-water offers as a knowledge hub. It will also allow prospective clients, such as government agencies and river basin organizations, to share their ongoing work in implementing water quality management in their respective river basins, and to explore opportunities for collaboration.
