The project steering committee will be composed of 1 senior representative each from SCRI (Chair), the Ministry of Education from Mingechevir (Deputy), and the Implementing Agency; 3 representatives from the IDP community; and 2 parent representatives from the rehabilitated schools.
The project will target the poor and low-income groups in selected Ger housing areas of the three cities covered under part B of Loan 1847-MON: Housing Finance Sector Loan, and eight aimag centers in eastern and central Mongolia under the Integrated Urban Services for Secondary Towns Loan. The cities are Baruun-Urt, Choibalsan, Choir, Dalanzadgad, Darkhan, Mandalgovi, Ondorkhaan, Sainshand, Tsetserleg, Ulaanbaatar, and Zuunmod.
Integrate IDPs into the host population in ways that will help them improve their quality of life and economic opportunities, and that will also benefit poor non-IDPs within the same community, thereby reducing social conflict.
Project PurposePut in place replicable and effective techniques, and appropriate institutional arrangements for assisting IDPs to improve their shelter, education, and livelihood circumstances involving partnerships between central and local governments, NGOs, and the beneficiary communities.
