Nongovernment organization, Local Management Committees, community-based organizations, and school-parents committees.
The project will cover lower secondary schools, in the poorest areas based on the poverty status in the districts, concentration of ethnic minorities, population density and the performance and commitment of teachers.
Overall Objective
- To enhance the ongoing, pro-poor education reform processes in Cambodia.
Project Purpose
- Provision of access to agricultural services and resources and income-generating opportunities in the poverty stricken areas for the rural poor.
Expected Output
- Promote awareness of the importance of girls' and indigenous children's education and mobilize the creation of local management committees
- Assist in developing institutional capacity to administer national targeted assistance programs in all educational sectors throughout the country
- Establish targeted assistance programs in selected lower secondary schools
The Project has four major components:
- Community mobilization
- Capacity building for scholarship programs
- Pilot-testing of scholarship programs
- Dissemination of experiences and policy advocacy
