Selected nongovernment organizations (NGOs), peoples' organizations (POs), and local government units (LGUs)
The Project will target between 30 and 80 of the 100 municipalities covered under the IRPES during the three-year project period. Livelihood activities in the first year of implementation will focus on 10 municipalities where IRPES core subprojects are located.
One project component will support sustainable livelihood activities in about 250 barangays (villages) of the project area. An estimated of 7,500 rural households will benefit from the Project.
Decrease poverty incidence in targeted areas as defined in IRPES project.
Project PurposeIncreased and diversified income-generating opportunities for the poor in targeted areas so that they can better benefit from the improved infrastructure facilities financed under the IRPES.
Expected OutputPoverty incidence in villages included in the Project decreases from 60 percent in 2000 to 40 percent in 2004.
