Part One: Introduction and Overview

Part One provides an overview of the role of the financial sector in economic development and an introduction to the system of international standards to enhance financial stability. In light of the current global financial crisis, many aspects of finance, financial policy and financial law and regulation are being rethought and addressed at international, regional and domestic levels. As a result, there is currently a high level of uncertainty in many of these areas and, where possible, the Toolkit attempts to provide relevant information.
