Description
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is focusing efforts to promote managing for development results (MfDR) in three key results areas: (i) improved support for MfDR capacity building in developing member countries (DMCs), (ii) increased results orientation in managing ADB’s operations, and (iii) sustained collaboration with development partners to share MfDR knowledge.
ADB recognizes that a robust public sector is among the primary drivers to deliver and sustain high quality results (impact, outcomes, and outputs) at the country and sector levels. Strengthening the public sector’s ability to effectively deliver goods and services therefore supports efforts to achieve national goals. This guide is intended to be used by staff to recognize the importance of public sector management (PSM) to the delivery of results in ADB sector operations. It shows how the results features of the framework can be integrated into ADB’s business processes—in particular the country level sector assessments.
