Status Report on the Asian Tsunami Fund (January-June 2006)

This report is the third semiannual report since the establishment of the Asian Tsunami Fund and covers the period from January to the end of June 2006. Information provided in the first two status reports is not repeated.

The Asian Tsunami Fund (ATF), established in February 2005, is the first Asian Development Bank (ADB) facility to channel funds targeted specifically at regional disaster relief and reconstruction. In accordance with the administration arrangements for the ATF, progress reports on the activities financed, as well as major issues and recommendations, were made available to the contributors and the ADB Board of Directors for information in October 2005 (covering the period from February to 31 August 2005) and in December 2005 (marking the first anniversary of the tsunami). This report is the third semiannual report since the establishment of the ATF and covers the period from January to the end of June 2006. Information provided in the first two status reports is not repeated.
