Description

The country operations business plan (COBP), 2013–2015 for Thailand aligns with the 11th National Economic and Social Development Plan, 2012–2016 of the Government of Thailand. The COBP is consistent with the strategic thrust of the country partnership strategy (CPS), 2007–2011, which remains valid. It takes into account new government priorities that are evolving as a result of the economic and social impact of the devastating 2011 floods, and the fallout and continued risks related to the global economic crisis. The COBP maintains consistency with the priorities in ADB’s Strategy 2020. It reflects ADB’s responsiveness to Thailand’s emerging needs and priorities, specifically in the areas of inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and environment and natural resource management. It also reflects the importance of knowledge cooperation and linking knowledge and finance, particularly in the context of Thailand’s desire to avoid the “middle-income trap” and achieve upper-income status. The COBP bridges the CPS 2007–2011 and the CPS 2013–2016, which is under preparation.
