Country Environmental Analysis (CEA) Reports

CEA reports cover

general environment status and trends in a country
policy, legislative, institutional and budgetary framework for environmental management, and principal constraints and barriers to improved environmental management in sectors relevant to ADB operations
main environmental opportunities and issues associated with ADB's Country Strategy and Program (CSPs).

As inputs to the CSPs, CEAs provide a strategic assessment of the lending and technical assistance pipeline in the context of the country's key environmental issues. ADB's CEAs are prepared in close coordination with the government and other development partners.

CEA work in ADB is currently in its preliminary development and testing phase. As a result, currently, individual CEAs may actually differ in both format and substance. Lessons learned from ADB's evolving CEA work are considered in preparing future CEAs.
