ADB will facilitate the organization of a gender panel as part of the High-Level Regional Conference on the Impact of the Global Economic Slowdown on Poverty and Sustainable Development (28-30 September, Hanoi, Viet Nam). H.E. Ing Khantha Phavi, Minister of Women Affairs for Cambodia will chair the session. Four presentations will be made by ADB, ILO Bangkok* and WIEGO*.

ADB's BRM and the Local Consultative Group (LCG) sub-group on Women Advancement and Gender Equality (LCG WAGE), Bangladesh organized a special event to celebrate the occasion of the International Women's Day 2009, held at the Shilpakala Academy Plaza, Segunbagicha, Dhaka on 9 March.
