Strategic Framework and the Core Agriculture Support Program
Vision and Objectives
 A Greater Mekong Subregion that is more prosperous in agriculture, more integrated in agricultural trade, and more equitable in sharing the gains of agricultural growth.
The GMS WGA has adopted a collective response and action through the Core Agriculture Support Program (CASP). The objectives of the program are:
- To accelerate and strengthen subregional cooperation in agriculture
- To contribute to food security and poverty reduction in the subregion
- To facilitate cross-border trade and investment in agriculture
- To facilitate the transfer and adoption of improved agricultural technologies
- To ensure the protection of the environment and sustainable use of shared natural resources
- To ensure surveillance and control of transboundary animal diseases to mitigate social and economic impacts
- To develop human resources and competencies to address cross-border concerns
