Asian Development Outlook 2008

Oil Expected to Keep Deceleration in Check

GDP growth is projected to fall to 5.0% in 2008 and a modest increase to 6.3% is penciled in for 2009. Any further deceleration in growth is expected to be checked by increased oil income, a healthy fiscal position, and still-strong foreign reserves.
