ADB Appoints Ursula Schäfer-Preuss as Vice-President

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - The Board of Directors of ADB yesterday approved the appointment of Ursula Schäfer-Preuss as a Vice-President for a term of three years. Ms. Schäfer-Preuss is currently Director General at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in Germany.

She succeeds Geert van der Linden who retires from ADB's service today.

As ADB's Vice-President for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development, Ms. Schäfer-Preuss will be responsible for its Regional and Sustainable Development Department, Economics and Research Department, and Office of Cofinancing Operations.
