ADB, IFC, and HDFC Investments Invest in Maldives to Make Housing Affordable and Accessible

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - The Asian Development Bank (ADB), International Finance Corp. (IFC), and HDFC Investments Ltd. are investing in Maldives to help reduce the country’s severe housing shortage.

The investment, comprising an equity and loan component, will enable privatization of the government-owned housing finance institution, Housing Development Finance Corporation Plc, Maldives (HDFC-M) and transform it into a commercially viable, private sector led company.
