Cambodia: Mainstreaming Climate Resilience into Development Planning
1 October 2012 -
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the following technical assistance:
Description:
The technical assistance will strengthen institutional and technical capacity to coordinate Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) investments in Cambodia and integrate adaptation concerns into development planning, thereby leading to improved resilience to climate change. By 2018, adaptation strategies are expected to be integrated into planning in at least three sectors, with more than 25% of projects in key sectors climate-proofed. It will support feasibility studies for priority adaptation projects and establish a civil society support mechanism to fund community-based adaptation activities by civil society and nongovernment organizations. It will also promote synergies between adaptation and disaster risk reduction, and establish a common framework for monitoring and evaluation of all PPCR projects and disseminate adaptation knowledge across the country.
Amount: $7 million funded on a grant basis by the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) of the Strategic Climate Fund.
Project ID: 45283
