18 June 2012 -
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved changes in the scope and increased the financial support to the following technical assistance:
Description:
Designed to increase the number of ADB projects that deliver access to energy for the region’s poor, this technical assistance is yielding results with $1 billion in investments to expand access to energy, helping about 7.7 million households gain access to electricity and modern fuel in 2011. By increasing the scope and support to this technical assistance, it will help scale up community renewable energy systems; pilot demonstration projects; and build capacity for sustainable implementation and large-scale projects.
Amount: A$2 million grant from the Government of Australia, to be administered by ADB.
