India – Human Waste Management Technical Assistance

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the following technical assistance:
Description:
The project will help urban local bodies in the states of Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh draft plans for on-site treatment and management of human waste to improve public health and the environment. Poor sanitation, especially in cities, costs the Indian economy almost $54 billion a year.
Amount: $700,000 equivalent grant from the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction, administered by ADB.
