Indonesia – Water Supply & Sanitation Sector Development Technical Assistance
25 November 2011 -
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the following technical assistance:
Description:
The technical assistance will prepare a sector strategy and roadmap, as well as an agreed project pipeline and improved portfolio, to assist Indonesia in its goal of accelerating the connection of 10 million households to piped water supply and increasing access to sustainable sanitation services. Workshops and seminars highlighting regional best practices will be conducted, and long-term knowledge partnerships will be established. Currently, less than 40% of Indonesia’s urban population is connected to piped water systems and less than 20% countrywide when rural water supply is included.
Amount: $500,000 equivalent grant from the Republic of Korea e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund, which will be administered by ADB over 12 months, beginning November 2011.
