Innovations in Wastewater Management Technical Assistance
15 March 2012 -
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the following regional technical assistance:
Description:
Up to 90% of wastewater generated in Asia and the Pacific is untreated or inadequately treated, affecting water supplies, human health, fisheries, livelihoods and economic development. In order to attract financing and scale-up interventions, regional governments will need to foster a paradigm shift in environmental sanitation and adopt cost-effective technologies. This technical assistance, in line with ADB’s Strategy 2020, will support the development and increased investments in wastewater management projects in accordance with the Water Operational Plan.
Amount: $2 million equivalent grant from the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction, administered by ADB.
