Lao PDR – Smallholder Development Project Additional Loan

The Asian Development Bank has approved the following additional loan for the Smallholder Development Project:
Description:
Agriculture is the lifeblood of the economy, accounting for about 40% of gross domestic product and over 70% of employment. The additional funds will be used to consolidate and expand ongoing project investments in sustainable small agribusinesses which are helping to boost agricultural productivity, increase incomes, and reduce rural poverty.
Amount: $5 million equivalent from the Asian Development Fund.
