Nepal – Electricity Transmission Improvement Project - Loan, Grant

The Asian Development Bank has approved the following project:
Description:
The project will make electricity supply more reliable, allowing Nepal to make greater use of its vast hydropower resources, and a cross border transmission line for energy trading with India.
Amount: $56 million equivalent loan, and $19 million grant, both from the Asian Development Fund. $250,000 from the Technical Assistance Special Fund. Cofinance of $25 million from the Government of Norway.
