Nepal – School Sector Program Grant, Technical Assistance

The Asian Development Bank has approved assistance for the School Sector Program which supports the Government of Nepal’s ongoing education reform initiatives.
Description:
The program strongly focuses on equity and quality, and reinforces efforts to extend quality education to girls and children from vulnerable groups. It will provide them targeted support. It has an innovative approach to improve the safety of school buildings which are susceptible to natural hazards. It will also strengthen institutional capacity of the government agencies to implement the program effectively, mitigate fiduciary risks, and strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems.
Amount: $65 million grant from the Asian Development Fund. Technical Assistance Special Fund grant of $500,000 to support agencies to implement the program.
