PRC – Carbon Capture and Storage Technical Assistance
12 December 2011 -
The Asian Development Bank has approved the following technical assistance for the People’s Republic of China (PRC):
Description:
The project will support a leading PRC power company, Datang International Power Generation Company, to pilot test carbon dioxide capture and storage technology at a natural gas-based combined cycle power plant it will build near Beijing. This is expected to pave the way for the wider use of the technology at natural gas-based power plants, which will help lower greenhouse gas emissions.
Amount: $1.8 million grant from the Carbon Capture and Storage Fund under the Clean Energy Financing Partnership Facility, to be administered by ADB.
