Railway Sector Investment Program - Tranche 2 : Bangladesh

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved funding for the second phase of support to Bangladesh’s Railway Sector Investment Program.
Description:
The second tranche finances the following infrastructure investments in the Dhaka – Chittagong and Dhaka – Darsana – Khulna corridors of Bangladesh Railway: Financing of the funding gap due to cost overrun in the Tongi – Bhairab Bazar Double Track project; rehabilitation of yards and extension of loops at different stations in the Darsana – Ishurdi – Sirajganj Bazar section; upgrading of signaling at 11 stations between Ishurdi and Darsana; and construction supervision consulting services. The project promotes regional cooperation, environmental sustainability and economic growth.
Amount: $150 million loan from ordinary capital resources.
