Technical Assistance for Assessment of Fossil Fuel Subsidies

The Asian Development Bank has approved the following project:
Description:
The assistance will be used to study the implications and impacts of rationalizing and phasing out fossil fuel subsidies, which help buffer the poor from energy price rises but impose financial burdens on developing economies and discourage the development of clean energy.
Amount: $1 million equivalent from ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund.
