15 December 2011 -
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved the following technical assistance:
Description:
The technical assistance will focus on improving access to agriculture and food value chains financing for smallholder farms and small to medium agro-enterprises (SMAEs). This will be done through a comprehensive review of literature of the policy and institutional bottlenecks in financing using four country experiences. From this, a policy report for inclusive and sustainable financing will be proposed to the governments of Bangladesh and Cambodia. Pilot testing of innovative financing models for smallholders and SMAEs, and development of local-based knowledge platforms on innovative financing modalities, will also be undertaken.
